Notes on Viewing Hebrew Characters

This website uses Hebrew characters from the utf-8 character set and html unicode escape sequences. These characters should be viewable using any reasonable browser under any operating system.

A sample of Hebrew characters from html unicode entity references: ב”ה (should be (from right to left) letter bet followed by a quote mark followed by letter heh)

Sample of Hebrew characters encoded in utf-8: ברוכים הבאים (brucheem habaim)

If you cannot read them, you should seriously consider upgrading your browser or installing the necessary operating system componants for internationalization.

If you don't control your own computer, it may be time to get to know your friendly neighborhood system administrator. The necessary changes are minimal and involve standard software, and thus should not present a problem. (However, we make no guarantees and take no responsibility.)

Known good browsers: Mozilla/Firefox (free), IE 6, Safari.

Known incompatible browsers: IE 5.2 for Mac.

If you run Linux and see boxes with hex codes instead of Hebrew characters, you may need to install some additional fonts. For Debian: install the culmus package, which contains Type1 Hebrew fonts for X11.
